Case Studies - PHP / MySQL / AJAX Web Application Development

In the US, patients are in most cases insured by health insurance companies (payors) for payment of their medical care. Doctors as well as other healthcare facilities contract with these payors to provide medical care to their Patients.  Not all doctors and healthcare facilities accept all the dozens of payors in the market. Hundreds of doctors and facilities in an area, combined with all the different payors, create thousands if not millions of combination. It was a challenge for the office staffers at medical facilities to refer their patient to the facility which accept the patient’s payor in that geographic areas. They were managing this information through continuous phone calls, emails, outdated payor directory books and by visiting payor websites.

The Web Development Team at Suntec designed a web based application www.referralclick.com  for our Client. This web application provides a single source, accurate and easy to use information source for all Doctors' offices.  This web based system also gives the ability to the designated persons from their doctor or facility listing to login and modify their information real time.

We have also provided the CMS (content management System) for the website administrator to add or edit any doctor/facility listing.  Content moderation is also possible with a concept of super admin. Super admin can moderate the content submitted by any user.

For every facility records, we are maintaining a search statistics (Stats) that will show that how many times user’s submitted facility has been viewed when searching for specified service provider on website. The stats are being maintained for last 7 days, last 30 days and total number of search.

While viewing the search details you can also get an idea of geographical location of faculty you are looking at. This is possible with Google Map integration.

The site has been built using PHP as the server scripting language and MySQL database.  PHP and MySQL are two leading open-source scripting and database technologies and complement each other very well.  We implemented a highly flexible & robust database using mysql that smoothly handles already millions and constantly increasing online records. 

We have used Advanced AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) extensively in this web application to display search results, record details, member panel, change password etc.
